An actual druid healing post - OMFG

The title of this post says it all. I think I saw this blog categorized somewhere under "general", which is very true. So yeah! An actual druid healing post! /fall over in disbelief.

Anyways, I need some advice. This may have been discussed somewhere previously and maybe I just missed it. But what are your thoughts on Furor vs Moonglow?

For all of you resto druids much much smarter than me, how are you prioritizing between these two talents? Going completely one over the other? Picking some combination of the two?

Halp me with my mana. kkthxbai

Tree of Life... sometimes?

Ok, so you guys know that I very very rarely talk about patch/expansion notes or changes on this blog (and I never ever post on Sundays!). There are much smarter trees who do this much better than I could (/points at folks like Beru, Bell, Keeva, and Kae). I think the last time I talked about some patch changes was over a year ago on my pie post on 3.1. But the latest announcement on their planned changes to our class in Cataclysm was something I could not keep quiet on.

First of all, let's just look at the name of this blog. When I started this blog in September of '07, I didn't choose an incredibly original name, but it fit what I wanted to blog about, healing as a restoration druid. Thus this blog is called Tree of Life. NOT Metamorphosized Tree of Life, or Tree of Life... Randomly, or Tree of Life... every 3 minutes, or Tree of Life... sometimes. Tree of Life. So WTF, I have to change this blog's name now?

Seriously though, I read a bit of the huge druid changes forum thread here with some of Ghostcrawler's responses which are summarized nicely on this wow.com post .

So tell me, why do they not want us healing continuously in tree form? Why is it ok for bears, cats, and boomkins to continue to keep their forms? Healing forms are bad but tank/dps forms are ok? Boomkins and shadow priests switch out of their forms if they have to spot heal in a pinch. They can't heal in their main dps form. The point of a specific form is to perform that form's function, no? Isn't that what us druids are all about?

GC said in one response that:

"druids are balanced around healing in tree form, meaning they give up a lot of utility just to be as good as other healers".

What is this "utility" that other healing classes have while they are healing? Does he mean dps? Why is it such a big deal that we can't dps in our healing tree form unlike the other healing classes? I've healed with pallys, priests, and shammys. They are usually just as busy as I am healing during our raids. Aren't yours? So, what exactly does he mean by "utility" here? Someone smarter than me, enlighten me plz!

Also why do all the healing classes have to be identical? Both Beru and Bell posted good posts last week about us trees being able to tank heal, but not being able to do it as well as pallys. Why can't we just recognize that each healing class has their strengths and brings utility to the healing team? Why must we be identical? This whole "as good as other healers" gets me because I guess I feel that I can hold my own with any healing class in a 10 man or 25 man format (I don't regularly run 25 mans but I have in the past and done just fine). Yes, even with dress wearing pallys. And I don't feel like I'm missing some "utility" to do so.

Someone asked GC to respond to the fact that "There is a large difference between "controversial" and being close to unanimously hated". To which GC responded:

"You don't have any evidence of that though. Even within this thread, there are plenty of players who like the change. It's not like we design around public vote anyway".

Wow, just wow. Maybe it was just me, but I saw many more people within the thread who do not like this change. And I don't really often read the forums, but um does GC always post with such an arrogant asshat attitude?

And the whole talk about the minor glyph to keep tree form (which is just a bandaid fix BTW), even that seems uncertain:

"We might (*might*) consider a minor glyph that kept the visual of the old tree form in some fashion even when not using the Tree of Life cooldown".

Some of the other points GC made were around us getting no new spells. I haven't really had the bandwidth to be irritated by this because I'm too consumed by losing tree form to some yet to be determined cooldown mechanic. A poster asked "Other from the universal healing changes Resto Druids have absolutely NOTHING to relearn or spend time to master unlike the other healing class notes released". To which GC responded "Let me know how that Rejuv spamming with WG on cooldown works out for you at 85".

He continues:

"I just pulled a couple of heroic Icecrown parses at random from among the best guilds out there. Their druids had like 60% Rejuv and 25% Wildgrowth. I'm sure some of that remainder was LB or Swiftmend or something (like a certain hammer or mace), and maybe they even saved someone's life with one of those spells. But you're going to have a hard time convincing me that druids aren't too effective with just those two spells. That will change in Cataclysm.

My parses look nothing like 60% Rejuv and 25% Wildgrowth. Yes, Rejuv is my biggest heal at about 40-45%, followed by Lifebloom, Nourish, Regrowth, then Wildgrowth. So he seems to be saying that they are looking at high end 25 man raiders also needing to use more spells, which I already do now as a 10 man healer. But this comment concerns me a bit because I wonder if they look at our functions as a healer based on a 25 man raiding environment. And not just any 25 man raiding, but the best 25 man guilds in the world. I just question whether that is a real representative sample of the majority of the player base.

Now I guess (or am hoping?) that its not 100% certain that the cooldown to tree form would go through. And as Bell rightly points out, we don't know anything about the cooldown mechanic yet. I'm not going as far as saying I would not buy Cataclysm or not play my druid if this change goes through. I am still a resto druid through and through (and hello, this is my only level 80 toon remember?). But do I like the thought of my tree form being on any form of cooldown? Hell, no. Fuck, no (I promised my guild I was going to put a f-bomb in this post).

So how can we best let ourselves heard since GC says there is no evidence we don't like this change? Hmmm, well here's a start courtesy of Keeva:

Resto Druid Drops in Heroic Frozen Halls

With patch 3.3, we get three new 5 man dungeons, collectively called the Frozen Halls. The Frozen Halls includes 3 dungeons that you have to complete in order: The Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection. Now I just recently learned that the last boss in the Halls of Reflection is the Lich King himself (I don't keep up with detailed patch notes much in advance). I knew that the last boss in the Icecrown raid would be the Lich King, but I had no idea that he'd also be hanging out in the 5 man! I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this.

Anyways, when Wotlk came out, I ran through the 5 mans for the first time with no clue whatsoever what the bosses would do. It was definitely kind of fun that way, and I'll probably do that this time as well. The normal version of these 5 mans drop level 219 gear while the heroics drop level 232 gear.

For those of us who pretty much run 10 mans exclusively, there are some upgrades to be had by running these heroic dungeons. I know there are phat lewts in the Icecrown raid. But I just don't know how hard or easy these Icecrown bosses will be for us. So I figure I will plan on upgrading via heroics where I can.

Again I'm only listing drops from the heroic versions. I also left off the cloth healing pieces because yes, I know we can wear them, but in actuality I really never do. I will leave the tissue armor for my priesty friends.

Forge of Souls
Bronjahm:
* Love's Prisoner
Devourer of Souls:
* Essence of Desire (hmmm sounds kinda naughty)
* Arcane Loops of Anger (Jess would probably say I should have this)

Pit of Saron
Forgemaster Garfrost:
* Surgeon's Needle
Krick and Ick:
* NADA
Scourgelord Tyrannus:
* NADA because I think Nevermelting Ice Crystal is more for dps unless for some reason you need the spellpower

Halls of Reflection
Falric:
* NADA
Marwyn:
* Ephemeral Snowflake
The Lich King (holy crap!):
* Shriveled Heart
* Chestguard of Broken Branches (awwww)
* Oath of Empress Zoe

Trash Drops from any of the 3 dungeons
* Ghostly Wristwraps

I really need a new offhand, so I would love Shriveled Heart. I really wish there was a cloak as well because my cloak sucks with a capital S.

For those of you who are not quite as awesome as us resto druids and want to see other drops (noes! all the lewts are for us trees!) from these dungeons, scroll down on these wowwiki sites for Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection

Druidy Quiz Answers

Here are the answers to my druidy quiz. I meant to do this post over the weekend, so as to lessen Averna's suspense a bit. Sorries!

So the two that I thought were obvious ones were Anub with the leeching swarm, and Onyxia because I took the SS inside her lair. Oops. :)

Fight #1 with 4063 hps: Anub

I think Averna got it right on with pointing out a lot of lifebloom usage during Phase 3.

Fight #2 with 2468 hps: Faction Champions

I think other than Onyxia, the Champions might have been guessable because of the lowest hps because I was cycloning and rooting a bit as well.

Fight #3 with 2356 hps: Onyxia

Hmmm, other than Anub, this was the fight with the second highest use of Lifebloom. Huh. Interesting.

Fight #4 with 2939 hps: Beasts

Fight #5 with 2724 hps: Jarraxus

I had the highest use of Regrowth on Jarraxus. Hmmm. Well I do know that I usually throw a Regrowth on someone when they get Legion Flame but yeah, I totally thought I used Nourish more here.

Fight #6 with 4993 hps: Twins

I think this was easy given the highest hps and the most use of Rejuv and Wild Growth.

And the winner is... (drum roll please) Gargen! And yes Gargen, I totally thought I used Swiftmend more than I actually do. The prize? As Averna suggested, a gold star and I shall award you the title 'Tree of the day'.

Now considering this was 10 man regular TOC, I think some of my healing may be affected by the fact that this is pretty easy for us. But what kinda heals did I throw out for Heroic Beasts? I did 4120 hps with these spells:

1. Rejuv = 29.2%
2. Nourish = 20.4%
3. Lifebloom =18.3%
4. Regrowth = 17.3%
5. Wild Growth = 10.4%
6. Swiftmend = 4.4%

A bit different than Fight #4 above. Hmmm so when its a bit more difficult, it looks like I use Nourish more. Huh. Interesting.

Druidy quiz!

So you think you can druid, eh? Well, do you think you can match up my recount stats with their respective bosses?

Last night we did a quick run through regular 10 man TOC and Onyxia. There was a slight hiccup where I had somehow put on my entire PVP set (vs just the trinket) for the Faction Champions and then forgot to put back on my PVE gear for the Twins fight. Oops. I realized this about a minute into the Twins fight, to which I ask over vent: "Do you want the bad news now or later Jess?" I had to confess soon after when I ran out of mana and Jess died.

Anyways, the night was 2 healed by myself and our healing pally extraordinaire, Nico. I will also provide hps numbers to help a bit, but two of these recount stats should be an easy give away.

The bosses:
Beasts
Jarraxus
Faction Champions
Twins
Anub
Onyxia

Fight #1 with 4063 hps:

Fight #2 with 2468 hps:

Fight #3 with 2356 hps:

Fight #4 with 2939 hps:

Fight #5 with 2724 hps:

Fight #6 with 4993 hps:

Any guesses on which recount stats represent which bosses?

The summary here? First, I love Rejuv. Obviously. I am not rocking the T9 4 piece Rejuv bonus yet. I can't even imagine what my numbers will look like then. Second, I also love and use Regrowth and Lifebloom probably a ton more than any of you guys which I've mentioned before on this blog. Third, I do not use Wild Growth and Nourish as much as you guys probably do. I'm definitely trying to use them more, but I don't know... maybe I'm just an old school tree. I would probably also use Wild Growth more if we were running 25 mans.

But I think the big take away here is that there are a ton of different ways to heal as a resto druid. I've healed with other druids who use Nourish and Wild Growth as their top two spells with very similar healing outputs as myself. I think this versatility is a part of what I love about our class!

Tree Huggers - All Druid Run

I'm catching back up on blogging again by putting up some posts I have been meaning to do a while. So I had decided a month or so ago that when dual specs come out, I am going to take feral as my second spec. I think a lot of my guildies were very surprised and expected me to go boomkin.

But I'm intrigued with the whole notion of tanks typically not being female players. So maybe that's why I want to try tanking. In my real life I have been known to do a lot of things that gals typically don't do as much as guys... whether that is watching college basketball while hustling pool games while smoking cigars (Montecristos and Romeo y Julietas FTW).

So I decided I'd ease my way into it by trying kitteh first, where I couldn't totally wipe the raid. For my first heroic run as kitteh, I gathered some druidy friends to do an all druid run, which I've never done before. It was a fun time speaking all things druidy. I said that we needed a team name. I think Fonzy suggested something around herbing, but then Pan sheepishly admitted that he doesn't herb. What?!?! A druid that doesn't herb? You bring shame to all druids! Ok... just kidding Pan... we loves ya. Then the name Tree Huggers came up, which of course I love.

Let me just say, being kitteh was so different. What? I can't click boxes on grid? What? Target bosses? What? Skull before X before Orange? What? I have to be behind the boss? What? Where am I? So yeah... there was confusion.

Anyways, some pics.

What you can learn from these real trees

One interesting thing that playing a resto druid in this game has given me is a greater appreciation for all things arboreal. During my cross country drive a couple months ago, somehow the most amazing trees would catch my eye wherever we went. It was like I had this "track cool trees" ability turned on. I would definitely say that us resto druids have a great pride and love for our tree form. So with this is mind, I present to you some amazing real life trees and what we can learn from them.

1. Tree of Life, Bahrain

This 400 year old mesquite tree stands out in the middle of a desert in Bahrain in a place completely free of water. The mystery of the survival of the tree has made it a legend, and many come to visit what they call a representation of the magic of life. A local legend says that the site where the tree is located was the actual location of the Garden of Eden.

I especially love this tree. In one way it looks kind of lonely and sad to me, though in another it just seems so mythical... so magical... so inspiring. What can we learn from it? Well if this tree can somehow survive without a known water source, we can certainly learn how to not run out of mana, can't we?

2. ChĂȘne-Chapelle of Allouville-Bellefosse

This amazing oak tree is known as the most famous tree in France. It is actually a tree and a religious chapel in one! In 1669, two priests decided to build a chapel in what was at the time a 500 years old or so oak tree that had been made hollow by a lightning bolt. The priests built a small altar to the Virgin Mary and later on, a second chapel and a staircase were added.

Let's say a raid is going poorly. What to do, what to do? Well if you are lucky enough to have a resto druid with you, obviously the tree can not only heal, but can do double duty as your own personal traveling chapel. Have all raid members kneel in prayer before the tree.

3. Old Tjikko, Sweden

Old Tjikko has been determined as the world's oldest individual clone-tree at 9,550 years old. The tree has survived this long due to a cloning process that many trees are able to take advantage of. Parts of the tree may die and regrow multiple times, while the tree's root system remains intact. For example a trunk may only live for about 600 years, but when one trunk dies another eventually grows back in its place.

I think Old Tjikko gives us a couple lessons to think about. First of all, us trees are resilient. Cut us down? We'll just clone ourselves. We aint going anywhere. Deal with it. (Heh) Secondly, I think this tree reminds us that looks are deceiving. You look at the picture of this tree and maybe think "What? That's the oldest tree in the world?" So maybe you encounter someone in a raid or an instance and at first glance they may not be as well geared. Well, as has often been mentioned elsewhere, gear doesn't tell the entire story. This person's skill may outplay their gear. Just remember Old Tjikko. :)

4. Pando, Utah

Aspen trees form large stands of genetically identical trees. These trees are almost like stems connected by a single underground root system. The largest known fully-connected Aspen is a grove in Utah called Pando. It is claimed by some to be the largest organism in the world, by mass or volume, with an estimated weight of 6,600 tons. The name Pando comes from the Latin for 'I spread'. It has also been nicknamed the Trembling Giant, after the aspen's rattling leaves.

I think Pando teaches us that you mess with one of us resto druids, you're messing with all of us trees. We may not all be genetically identical, but we're a tight knit bunch. Its sort of like there is this tree sisterhood/brotherhood that doesn't need to be said or defined... it just is.

5. Kite Eating Tree, Peanuts

And finally, what does the kite eating tree from the Peanuts teach us all? Do not fly kites around us trees. To us, they are nom noms. Ok? Ok.

Tree of Life history lesson

Tree of Life by Gustav Klimt

The name of our tree form, and the phrase across the top of this blog is Tree of Life. I don’t think that the association that trees have with life comes as a surprise to anyone. But did you really know where this connotation comes from? Are you curious? Well I was, so being the geek that I am, I did some wiki research.

The Tree of Life symbol is an important one found in nearly every culture, symbolizing wisdom, protection, strength, bounty, beauty, and redemption. It is believed that people were easily able to identify to trees because we, like trees, develop roots, strengthen our trunk and branch out to a wider vision of life as we grow (I like that). Just look how vast this tree of life concept spans (and I’m only listing a few here):

* Norse mythology: In Norse mythology Yggdrasil is known as the World Tree. Yggdrasil is an ash tree that stands at the center of the universe, linking and sheltering all the worlds with its strength. Yggdrasil reaches up with its branches to the spiritual realm of Asgard (representing the higher self), its middle is the world of Midgard (representing the world of the human ego and persona), and its roots reach down to the underworld of tree dwarves and elves (representing the unconscious senses). Yggdrasil is the strong axis around which these three planes of existence revolve.
Yggdrasil totally reminds me of Teldrassil… is this where they got the name from?

* China: In Chinese mythology a carving of a Tree of Life is depicted with a phoenix and a dragon. The dragon represents one's essence and the phoenix the fire of changing but immortal life.
Hmmm yeah I wish us trees could be immortal in WOW…

* Ancient Egypt: In Egyptian mythology, Isis and Osiris are said to have emerged from the acacia tree of Saosis, which the Egyptians considered the Tree of Life, referring to it as the "tree in which life and death are enclosed". Also, the ancient Egyptian symbol for "plant", or "Tree of Life", was three sacred lotus lilies.
You see, this is why I should be picking all of the Fel Lotuses!

* Buddhism: Buddha was said to have redeemed the whole universe under its protective branches of the great Bodhi tree, the great Tree of Enlightenment. Under this World Tree, the Buddha transformed all negative temptations and energies and achieved perfect enlightenment.
I wonder how I am doing with enlightening my guildies?

* The Maya: For the Maya, the Tree of Life, called Yaxche, represented the axis mundi, or the stable world center. It constituted a symbolic vertical line, that united the three realms of underworld, earth, and heavens. Yaxche, traditionally a Ceiba tree, was often depicted with four branches representing the four cardinal directions significant to the Maya.
What's funny here is that the Tree of Life is the center of the four directions... funny because I often get lost.

* Kabbalah: In Kabbalah, Tree of Life is a term used to describe the mythical unity of ten attributes that God created, through which he can manifest. The mythical unity of these ten attributes, or sephirots, is called the Tree of Life.

* Judaism: "Etz Chaim", Hebrew for Tree of Life, is a common term used in Judaism. The expression, found in the Book of Proverbs, is figuratively applied to the Torah.

* Armenia: In ancient Armenia, the Tree of Life was a religious symbol and was drawn on walls of fortresses and carved on the armor of warriors. The branches of the tree were equally divided on the right and left sides of the stem, with each branch having one leaf, and one leaf on the apex of the tree. Servants stood on each side of the tree with one of their hands up as if they are taking care of the tree.
Hey… servants? Where do I pick up my servants?

How to grow into a nice strong tree

We have a new 70 in our guild and our second resto druid, Dest's alt Tygira. I am quite excited to have another tree in the family. I am currently calling her my bebeh sapling. She said she had a lot to learn from the master (yes, that would be me) so I wondered what kind of advice I could start her out with. Here are a couple of tips Tygira.

1. Trees need water, sunlight, and fertilizer. Go in tree form to Zangamarsh, take a nice swim, then spread a towel along the lake and lay out to soak up some sun while munching on some felweed.
2. Make sure to keep your branchy arms in tip top shape as you’ll be throwing them up above your head quite often. Three sets of 15 arm curls should do the job. For dumbbells find two gnome volunteers.
3. Trees also need maintenance and sometimes you may need pruning/shaping. Find someone with a nice sharp axe that you trust completely. Or at least someone with whom you can enact revenge (oops, I "accidently" forgot to heal you!) if they prune your leaves into a crazy leaf-fro.
4. Keep an eye out for pesky feral kitties and bears who could confuse your trunk for a scratching post. They’ll try to carve their initials or something like “Adamas wuz here”.

If Tygira follows these tips, I am sure that she will grow many many rings into a big strong tree.

Why a restoration druid?

My tank Jess (yes, she's mine, all mine) did a post a couple weeks ago on why she chose to play a protection warrior. Well here's a little back ground on how K came to be K.

I am a bit of a planner. I like to know exactly what I am getting into so that I don't regret it later. So before I started this game, I read the little manual the game came with and checked out the WOW website to read up on all the characters options and decide what I wanted. I think I chose a druid for a couple of reasons. I knew I wanted to heal, but I liked that a resto druid would allow me to level up with relative ease. I love that in full healing gear, I can switch in and out of bear form and still take on 4 mobs while doing my dailies. I also liked that if I had to, I could switch specs at end game and have three other options (if I had to switch... I'd probably go boomkin).

Thinking about it today though, I really love the different druid forms. It may be because it is somewhat similar to my real life personality as well. Sometimes I can be tough and all growly like a bear (often in the mornings... pre-coffee). Other times I can be a bit catty and all rawr like a kitty. But most of the time, I am most like a tree... not the loudest or flashiest person in the room, but peacefully, dependably, and quietly standing in the back and getting things done. Now just like a tree, I'm not all stoic and responsible all the time... sometimes I can let loose and break it down, just like the crazy and funny tree dance. But I will say that I am probably not as paranoid as a tree. Have you guys seen how every few seconds, we'll look back over our right and left shoulder? What are we scared of? That someone will come jump us?

So there's why I am a druid, so why do I heal? Well my real life job is in healthcare, could that play a part? I wonder if it also has to do with how I described I am like a tree... I don't necessarily like to be the center of attention, but I like knowing that I am an integral part of the group, even if its less than obvious. There is also a part of me who takes pressure and stress pretty well. I sort of like how important the healer is in a group, and while sometimes there is a lot of pressure or responsibility, I kind of do well in those situations and like to try to step up to the plate. But I think there is also a part of me that likes having the "power" of the heals. Sometimes I like to bring Jess' health down precariously low just to show her whos boss (just kidding... well uh... not really)!

That birdie sure flies fast!

I plunked down the 5,000g for the quest chain for swift flight form back in January. Yes, January. I don't think we were quite ready for a heroic Set run until March or so... and by then we were running Kara. So I never bugged my guildies to run it with me. Well as Sethekk was the heroic daily yesterday, we finally went.

We had two wipes before we got Anzu down on the third try. I must say as the sole healer, it was a little tough to keep everyone up. Our softie mages Vel and Aksana - Jess' mage alt were getting quite a bit of damage by the birds Anzu summons, plus I was healing Wut, plus trying to keep HoTs on the three statues. The first time, I barely kept the statues up. I think the second time I was trying too much to keep the statues up. I know they help, but they won't do you much good if someone in your group dies. So the last time, I finally got the balance just right. If you are doing this boss, there are many sites online to help you, such as here. Make sure you create the macros to heal the bird statues.

After I turned in the quest, I was flying around in Zanga a bit... it was very very odd and sort of made me a bit queasy to fly around so fast. I swooped down to pick an herb, and totally flew past it and crashed into the water. Oops! It will definitely take some getting used to.

-1000 Tree Rep

I have been really really behind on my fellow druids blog reading. Well that means that I did not find out until mid week last week that Blizzard was potentially going to nerf our Lifebloom! Rightfully so, this caused quite a ruckus, the charge being lead by Leafshine by asking fellow bloggers to put up a cute little image on their home page protesting the nerf.

If I had known this was going on, I certainly would have joined in. As my guildies have heard over voice when we wipe, I probably would have ranted with a couple of choice salty words thrown in as well. Fortunately it looks like they are only changing the bloom part of our lifebloom, not the tick part of the lifebloom. Plus we may be getting a regrowth buff! Woot. Anyways, definitely -1000 to K for community tree rep. :(

On another note, I am a little tired of looking so... autumnal. Why are us trees permanently stuck in the fall season? I think we should look the way we do from Sep-Nov, but there are 3 other seasons. I say from Dec-Feb we have no leaves with maybe some snowflakes or icicles hanging off the branches. From Mar-May, we have little buds, then Jun-Aug we are very green and leafy. Blizzard puts out a patch at least every quarter, I don't think it'd be that hard for them to update us depending on the season... I mean its the worst to be wearing last season's leaves!

A big booooo to swift flight form

Ok, if you guys haven't noticed already, I am somewhat clueless to a lot of things in this game. What I know already, I know really well but what I don't know... well I don't know at all. (Huh?) But seriously, I hope you are using this blog as entertainment and amusement instead of some sort of source of knowledge. For example I posted yesterday thinking that resto druids were no good at arenas... to be corrected that they rock!

On to the subject of this post. So I've been pretty bummed out the last week since finding out that you have to do a bazillion quests to get swift flight form. Ok its not bazillion, but it's a lot and the last part requires doing Sethekk in Heroic mode, which requires revered rep with Lower City (its a never ending death spiral!!!). Ferocious Bite made a recent post on how to do the last part of the quest on his blog.

I, in my glorious cluelessness thought I just needed to fork over 5,000g to get swift flight form. So I fished like a mad woman (motes of water, golden darter, furious crawdad FTW!)... only to find out money isn't enough. Total sad panda. The other night when we did the ring of blood quests, Jess and I made about 100g. Bleh... more money. I don't need more money, but swift flight!

I am probably a rarity in that I have more than enough money, just not the rep to finish the quest line. On a related note, let me rant for a bit about rep. This is my first character I've leveled to 70. So I had no clue that I should grind arrakoa feathers until honored with lower city before doing any of the quests for it. Same for cenarion expedition... turn in unidentified plant parts until you're honored before doing quests. /big big sigh Do others have to do a crazy questline to fly fast as well? Does anyone just need to hand over the money?

So I know I just need to /end rant and get over it and start working on the lower city rep. But in the mean time, I am going to go on a crazy spending spree and use my money to gear up. I did actually find two people on Drenden who can make those shiny purple leather pieces for me, I just have to wait until they have a primal nether available. I was having a hard time finding someone in game until Jess suggested I go to the Drenden profession forums (I swear for a warrior that Jess has a good amount of intellect!).
