Frying weenies

We all well know that this little game we play is chock full of weenies and asshats. Its a part of the game, well and of life. But while most of you sane and normal folk just ignore said weenies and move on with your gaming lives, I for some reason feel a need to engage said weenies.

But let's pull back and bit and start from the beginning. So I have a super secret alt that I use as a money maker since she is a maxed inscriptionist. She's not in the guild because I just log on to her to do my money makin', plus sometimes its just nice to be a lone unguilded toon.

Those of you who have unguilded toons must know what's coming next. Yes, these poor toons are bombarded with constant requests to sign guild charters, which is really really annoying. Let's take a look at what my SSA (super secret alt) was faced with one night:

Asshat throws up guild charter in SSA's face
SSA closes guild charter
Asshat throws up guild charter in SSA's face
SSA closes guild charter
Asshat: Come on, just sign it. You can leave after.
SSA: Sorry, I'm not going to do it.
Asshat: Come on, just sign it.
SSA: Nope, find some one else. I don't respond very well to strangers throwing stuff up in my face. Perhaps if you would actually take the polite route and ask people, you would get a better response.
Asshat: KK LOL. WHATEVER LOSER DUDE.
SSA: Actually I'm a gal, not a dude.
Asshat: KK WHATEVER E GAL. UR A NOBODY AND I DON'T CARE.
SSA: Your incredibly rude behavior is obviously why you are forced to ask complete strangers to sign your charter. Best of luck, asshat.

Jess always asks me why I even engage asshats. I'm not sure why I feel the need to try to reform or educate these weenies. Am I trying to make the WOW world better, one asshat at a time? Heh. But honestly, when I'm presented with rudeness or asshattery, I just can't let it go. In game and in real life, I'm gonna speak my mind.

  1. If I want to mess with them (either guild signing requests, duel challenges, group invites, etc) I just leave the box open. If they are going around spamming duel challenges they can't challenge someone else until it times out on my screen.

Seems to make them stop after that :)

  2. When it comes to asshats and asshattery, I prefer the route of being unfailingly polite and immovably firm. This is usually more than enough to make most people realise they are being an asshat and stop.

  3. My current bank alt is unguilded ( I leveled my old one who was attached to her own guild) If I am asked politely I will sign - if they, as you said throw it up in your face I will tell them that they are being rude, and refuse to sign it.

  4. Sounds like a load of fun. I should start an unguilded toon and just stand in a major city so that I can give em my 2 cents too. :)

  6. Agreed--this is how I deal with telemarketers as well. Don't get mad, tell them to hold on a sec and toss phone on the couch. Sometimes, on the way back through I will pick it back up--"Who are you calling for again?"--then toss it back down. The longer it takes them to hang up, the more I giggle. It sure beats getting mad, etc. Plus, it costs the company extra monies to call me. ;P

  7. @Frostsmoke: Hmmm I'll have to try that strategy with telemarketers!
