Resto druid drops in heroic Trial of the Champion

I ran the new heroic instance again last night. Now in the two nights that I've run it, all I've seen is plate, mail, cloth, and melee dps leather gear. So I wondered, is there even any gear in here for us resto druids?

Well yeah there are, I just have yet to see them drop. Here is the full list of items, though the MMO champion site and wowhead still says they are item level 213 when they are actually 219.

What could us resto druids actually use?

Legs: Leggings of the Snowy Bramble (love the name!)
Gloves: Gloves of Dismal Fortune
Neck: Symbol of Redemption
Dagger: Spectral Kris
Mace: Mariel's Sorrow (I wonder who Mariel is)

Its still odd and new to think that I can upgrade my gear by running a heroic 5 man when I've been running Ulduar for a while.

  1. Kinda like MgT in BC. That friggin' place dropped awesome gear if you were in the first tier or so of BC raiding.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw and Icecrown Citadel 5-man when that patch comes.

  2. @Misneach: True. But I remember heroic MgT being very hard for us at the time. Maybe we weren't as geared relatively as we are now... maybe we were just huge nubcakes.

But comparatively, heroic Trial of the Champion is relatively easy.

  3. It's hard to tell, I've only been going in the 5 man with well Ulduar/Naxx25 geared groups. So is it easy because we're all geared to the nines, or is it easy because it's truly easy?

  4. @K: MgT was a nightmare. Just about all the WotLK 5-mans are easy in comparison.

I just think they're getting themselves in the habit of creating 5-mans in patches that have raid-quality gear and that trend started in BC with MgT.

  5. One of the Silver Covenant NPCs in the Inn says "Justicar Mariel Trueheart has asked us to see to the needs of the Tournament."

I saw that not long after I read this. :)

  6. I grabbed the neck and legs, but then decided the neck was just a sidegrade and not worth carting around.

The legs though are a big chunk of haste - when I put them on I lose about 20 healing and 20mp5, but my haste goes up by over 2%. I still have low haste, so this was attractive to me.

I suck at math, so I can't work out the specifics of the trade, but I think (with my current low haste) it's not such a bad tradeoff. I hate *losing* spellpower - I like it to always go UP, not down - but 20 healing is hardly anything. 2% haste is quite a lot.

Certainly it was fun to pick up an upgrade from a 5man.

And it really does mean that patch 3.2 is the alt patch - how easy is it going to be to take your alts in and gear them up - when even the normal mode drops epics? :D

And with the changes to badges and the price of Runed Orbs dropping, I feel like I'm swimming in gear options - while I'm not even raiding. And for both specs, too.

  7. Oooh. Tasty drops. Thanks for compiling them.

And now, I need to go round up the guild to get practicing

  8. Oh, was showing a friend around the tournament today and realized the main crusader who starts the quest line now is Justicar Mariel Trueheart. I really love her mace, since I've had a good dps mace forever, no healing ones dropped for me yet, and I was able to get this in 4 days.

  9. That last comment about getting better gear from a 5 man gets me frustrated.... what happened to progression this is regression.
